Job Description

 

We are looking for the next Global Shopper & Customer Marketing Associate Director to join our team at Barilla's Amsterdam HQ. This role is pivotal in delivering shopper- and customer-centric strategies that drive engagement and business results. The position includes managing one team member and reports directly to the Global Customer & Shopper Marketing Director.

 

Job Purpose:

  • Champion superior customer collaboration by leveraging global assets to position Barilla as a thought leader in shopper and customer marketing.

  • Align brand and category strategy with shopper insights to build compelling joint business plans with key customers.

  • Lead strategic initiatives related to customer management, including Retail Media and Second Party Data, through the development of methodologies, tools, and ongoing support frameworks.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

 

  • Digital Platform Management: Lead the development, adoption, and training of tools such as In Store Fundamentals (ISF 2.0), in partnership with IT, NTT, and EY.

  • Sales Force Automation (SFA): Support global implementation and optimization of the Kantar-powered SFA tool to enhance field execution.

  • Capability Building: Contribute to the creation and evolution of the international Sales & Trade job family through BSmart training programs and global webinars.

  • Global Project Coordination: Drive and coordinate customer-related global initiatives (e.g., Retail Media, Second Party Data, and Win-Win Partnerships).

  • Knowledge Sharing: Develop and distribute best practices and guidelines that facilitate the transition from global strategy to local market execution.

 

Desired Skills and Background:

 

  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Economics, Sales, Business, or a related field

  • 10+ years of international experience across marketing, trade, sales, and shopper roles

  • Strong leadership with experience managing multiple stakeholders and demonstrating resilience in complex environments

  • Data-driven mindset with proven analytical capabilities

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, especially in managing cross-functional projects

  • Fluent in English
