Job purpose
The Legal Privacy Associate Counsel supports the monitoring of compliance and the assessment of privacy aspects related to initiatives and projects of the corporate functions. The person contributes to the training of the employees in the field of data protection and supports the evolution of the privacy management system. Furthermore, is in charge of supporting the Group DPO and local DPOs in order to ensure an excellent inter-functional coordination at European level.
Accountabilities

Provide general privacy advice to promote continuous improvement of GDPR compliance: proactively promote actions to further reinforce privacy compliance posture

Update contractual standards, privacy policies and procedures: monitor developments of regulations and orders from Supervisory Authorities and implement applicable recommendation in Barilla standard templates

Evaluate, in coordination with other functions (e.g., HR, Marketing), the privacy aspects of the respective projects and initiatives: support the business in terms of privacy compliance requirements (e.g., DPA, privacy policy)

Contribute to the systematic updating of records of processing activities and support the execution of privacy impact assessments: To keep RoPa up-to-date

Contribute to the creation and execution of training activities on privacy: To craft training material, schedule and deliver training sessions on privacy matters. ensuring the coordination on a global level of the contents’ creation and trainings’ provision

Support the conduct of internal and external audits to verify compliance with the GDPR: To liaise with internal (e.g., Group Internal Audit, Cybersecurity depts.) and external (e.g., suppliers) stakeholders in performing audit according to the Annual Plan

Manage data subjects’ requests in synergy with the IT and Marketing functions: To monitor, assess, classify and manage data subjects’ requests according to the relevant procedure and support the implementation of an automated system for managing said requests

Ensure continuous monitoring of the main regulatory developments in the field of data protection: stay abreast of latest developments in terms of regulation and provision by SAs, also attending training and webinar, to derive improvements to Barilla privacy compliance posture

Support the data breach management process and contribute to the update of the incident register: assist the relevant Data Controller to asses severity of a data breach and evaluate actions to be taken
Requirements

Master Degree in Law

3+ years working experience, preferably in multinational companies or law firms

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Excellent writing and presentation skills.

Required Licenses/Certifications: CIPP/E (or equivalent certification) is a plus

Fluency in English. Italian is a plus.
