Plant Maintenance Technician | Food Manufacturing

Starting Pay: $33.26/hour
Night Shift Premium: +$1.75/hour

As a Plant Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our facility operating at peak performance by:

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment and plant systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and VFD issues.
  • Complete repairs involving welding, machining, fabrication, and electrical work.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor and maintain plant utility systems, including air compressors, fire protection systems, and facility equipment.
  • Perform equipment changeovers and format/size adjustments.
  • Calibrate and adjust metal detection systems while maintaining required documentation.
  • Work closely with Production and Packaging teams to keep product flowing efficiently.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with outside contractors and vendors when needed.
  • Prioritize work orders to support production schedules.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that increase reliability, safety, and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow all food safety and quality procedures.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving complex equipment issues, and being part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications include:

  • Associate degree in a maintenance-related field or at least three years of industrial maintenance experience (mechanical and/or electrical).
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley and Siemens) is highly preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (Allen-Bradley) is a plus.
  • Welding, machining, fabrication, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production teams.
