Purchasing Specialist (Temporary)

Barilla Turkey is looking for a Temporary Purchasing Specialist (1 year contract) based in Bolu to join Supply Chain Team.

About the Role:

Purchasing Specialist reports directly to Purchasing & By-Product Sales Sr. Manager and will be responsible for managing the purchasing of Indirect Materials and Services and supporting of packaging material sourcing processes and preparing records and reports on relevant purchasing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing the Purchasing Operations of Indirect Materials and Services: Manage end-to-end purchasing activities, from understanding internal customer needs and market/supplier analysis to ordering, contracting and delivery follow-up, in line with global purchasing strategies and procedures.
• Accounting Document Control: Follow up on purchasing documentation, invoices and payment processes, ensuring required approvals and coordination with Accounting and Treasury teams.
• Negotiation and Supplier Evaluation: Manage supplier relationships, negotiate prices and commercial conditions, and conduct supplier performance evaluations.
• Supporting Packaging Material Sourcing: Support sourcing activities for packaging materials in close collaboration with the Purchasing team.
• Category Management: Manage indirect sourcing categories (e.g., MRO, IT) in alignment with the global category management approach and business needs.
• Compliance with Legal Regulations: Ensure purchasing activities comply with relevant legal requirements, company procedures, and Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental policies.
• Stakeholder & Supplier Relationship Management: Build strong and collaborative relationships with internal customers, external stakeholders and suppliers to ensure effective purchasing operations.
• Regular Site & Supplier Visits: Conduct regular site and supplier visits to better understand operational needs, strengthen supplier collaboration and identify improvement opportunities.What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree,
• Min 1 year of purchasing experience in the food industry
• Excellent command of MS Office applications
• Strong communication, organization, prioritization skills with an analytical mind
• Good command of English is a plus
