Job Purpose

 

The BPS Associate Manager provides support to the Americas, specifically to end user systems, processes, projects and other systems as needed.  This individual will actively partner with the business team to provide support, assess new IT requests, and identify the proper modification to the IT solution to enable business process changes, aligning with Corporate Processes.  This position provides leadership and process expertise during all project phases and ongoing user support after implementation of Barilla’s IT systems and processes.  

 

The SAP BPS Associate Manager will support, enhance, and optimize our SAP landscape across the Americas region. This role combines technical development, EDI integration expertise, and functional understanding of OTC processes to deliver robust, scalable business solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong hands‑on ABAP capability, deep familiarity with IDocs and EDI standards, and proven experience supporting end‑to‑end OTC processes. 

 

This is a hybrid role based out of Northbrook, IL. 

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Project management and leadership during all project phases (Requirements, solution evaluation, implementation, closeout) in alignment with corporate business and IT strategiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain custom ABAP objects including RICEFW components (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows). 
  • Utilize modern SAP development tools such as OOPs ABAP, CDS Views, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, OData services  
  • Troubleshoot and optimize code for performance and maintainability. 
  • Provide technical support for all EDI communications between the company and customers, vendors, and 3PLs, including IDoc processing, error resolution, and mapping updates  
  • Work with X12, EDIFACT, XML, and other formats as needed; collaborate with middleware teams (e.g., PI/PO or third‑party EDI providers). 
  • Maintain EDI partner profiles, port configurations, and message types. 
  • Support OTC processes including order management, pricing, billing, credit, chargebacks, and rebates, leveraging examples found in SAP SD/OTC consultant profiles 
  • Identify system improvements, analyze business requirements, and propose SAP‑aligned solutions. 
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure OTC process alignment across systems. 
  • Lead or participate in project phases including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, go‑live, and hypercare  
  • Work directly with end users and global SAP experts to align with corporate standards. 
  • Provide documentation, training, and ongoing Level 2/3 production support.  
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

 

Desired Skills and Background

  • Bachelor’s degree or specialized training / equivalent work experience preferred 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills 
  • 5+ years of SAP ABAP development including modern frameworks and enhancement techniques. 
  • Strong EDI/IDoc experience, including functional and technical mapping, partner configuration, and troubleshooting. 
  • In‑depth knowledge of SAP OTC processes, especially within SAP SD. 
  • Hands‑on expertise with tools such as ABAP Workbench, Enhancement Framework, BAPIs, BADIs, RFCs, etc. 
  • Familiarity with middleware (SAP PI/PO, Gentran, Sterling, or similar) 
  • Experience working on full lifecycle implementations, rollouts, and production support. 

Preferred  

  • Experience in CPG, manufacturing, consumer goods, or related industries. 
  • Exposure to S/4HANA development (CDS, AMDP, OData, BTP). 
  • Understanding of job scheduling tools (e.g., Autosys) or ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. 
  • Proven experience in IT industry supporting the business in a role of business analyst/application support analyst 
  • Experience working in a global environment preferred 
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 

 

As of the date of this posting, the estimated pay range for this role is $100k-$115k plus eligibility to participate in the annual discretionary bonus plan. The actual pay for the position will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to job-related experience, skills, education, location, and internal equity. This range may be subject to change over time.
