Job Purpose
The role is responsible for the production and inventory planning processes for the assigned US portfolio, ensuring the optimal balance between customer service, inventory levels, production efficiency and total supply chain costs.
The role contributes to the definition and execution of short, medium and long-term production plans, supporting business growth, service level achievement and efficient utilization of manufacturing, and co-packing capacities within the North American network.
This is a hybrid role based out of Northbrook, IL.
Key Accountabilities
• Develop and maintain short, medium and long-term production plans for the assigned portfolio, ensuring targeted service levels, inventory objectives and optimal utilization of manufacturing, import, and co-packing capacities.
• Partner with import vendors and international supply teams to coordinate inbound supply, monitor production and shipment timelines to support customer service and inventory targets.
• Demand analysis: Work constantly with demand planning to analyze demand deviation, set priorities, and solve unexpected situations in terms of customer demand.
• Run analysis on total demand in the supply network taking into account capacity constraints and bottlenecks.
• Responsible for project management for new items, packaging changes, and other business initiatives, ensuring on-time execution with no negative customer impact. Maintain close alignment with the plant to achieve overall business objectives.
• Collaborate with necessary contacts to set production priorities and adjust production plans to achieve stated service and cost objectives.
• Capacity management: Work with other internal planners in order to understand if additional co-pack or import volume is necessary; incorporate additional needs into the run strategy
• Implement and enhance medium and short-term production planning processes and solutions.
• Lead development and improvement of repack attainment metrics and spearhead initiatives to improve results working with the site as needed
• Handle unexpected supply issues and work with the supply chain team to implement viable solutions reducing the involved risks and costs
• Provide clear, timely communication and tactical relationship management with external parties supporting manufacturing operations (e.g., packaging suppliers, raw material suppliers, USDA).
• Ensure accurate production reporting and timely and accurate product releases
• Aid in the production budget, taking care of all the master data setup
• Responsible for maintaining planning master data to ensure the system is up-to-date and running efficiently.
• Inventory Risk Management/ Finished Product Inventory Adjustments
• Monitor inventory projections and identify risks related to excess, obsolete or short-dated inventory, proactively collaborating with relevant functions to define mitigation plans.
Desired Skills and Background
• Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline
• 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain in Consumer Package Goods (CPG) industry
• Prior ERP experience with Supply Chain Management modules
• Experience with SAP and APO Module for production or distribution planning
• Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to work strategically and tactically with a hands-on approach
• Ability to travel up to 15% domestically as well as internationally
• Ability to provide remote support via various methods
• Experience with Microsoft Intune or other endpoint management tools.
• Experience supporting multiple office locations.
• CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or related certifications a plus
• Experience with SCCM and software distribution is a plus.
• Cisco CCNA certification a plus
• SAP support experience a plus
• Domestic and Internationally travel may be required, 10-15%.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience working in a global environment is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently
• Experience with cloud systems a plus
• Experience with SAP or SAP GUI a plus
• Experience delivering small infrastructure projects, such as PC and mobile deployment.
• Experience with Networking and Cisco equipment a plus
As of the date of this posting, the estimated pay range for this role is $75K-$82K plus eligibility to participate in the annual discretionary bonus plan. The actual pay for the position will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to job-related experience, skills, education, location, and internal equity. This range may be subject to change over time.
