Job description
Barilla is looking for a Plant Maintenance Engineer Intern to join the Bakery Plant in Novara. The internship is a full-time, six months program starting from September 2026.
Job purpose
- Coordinate and oversee the development of plant maintenance engineering in line with area and plant objectives.
- Support improvement and problem-solving activities by working alongside maintenance staff and technicians.
- Contribute to the transition toward preventive and predictive maintenance policies.
- Optimize the technical management of the spare parts warehouse by minimizing stock value through full use of IT systems.
- Plan and supervise annual overhauls in compliance with general and specific safety regulations.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and safety departments by participating in targeted improvement initiatives. Independently manage installation activities and modifications to existing machines and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the correct use of company tools for reporting maintenance activities and technical warehouse management.
- Prepare a preventive maintenance and overhaul plan for all plant machinery and equipment.
- Develop the annual maintenance activity plan for each line, defining in advance the individual tasks and allocated resources (internal/external personnel and spare parts), and manage start-ups in alignment with production plans.
- Develop a maintenance service improvement plan through the implementation of problem-solving tools.
- Develop a KPI monitoring plan for the area.
- Develop procedures, OPLs (One Point Lessons), and SOPs for defining maintenance and changeover activities according to World Class Manufacturing standards.
- Ensure an adequate service level while reducing the stock value of the technical spare parts warehouse by implementing ABCX analyses and reordering policies.
- Develop the skills of technical warehouse staff to increase their autonomy in operations.
- Comply with and enforce general and specific safety regulations required for carrying out work activities.
