Job Description
Barilla is seeking one intern to join the team dedicated to production line data analysis, process digitalization, development and validation of vision systems, and optimization of manufacturing processes.
The role is based at our Bakery plant in Novara, working in close collaboration with the Plant Quality & Technology Manager and the Process Digital Transformation Technologist from R&D.
Key Responsibilities
- Support analytical activities and process digitalization initiatives.
- Collect and aggregate data; perform fine‑tuning, calibration, and validation of new online monitoring systems.
- Support process optimization tests.
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, and external technical partners.
- Contribute to the validation of new sensors and measurement equipment.
- Support data collection, data analysis, and digitalization activities.
- Perform ad‑hoc data gathering for calibration and fine‑tuning of new monitoring systems.
- Assist in conducting optimization tests on industrial production lines.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or STEM disciplines with a strong interest in manufacturing environments.
- We also accept students who are completing their thesis, provided it has already been agreed upon or is near completion.
- Advanced Excel skills (Python and MATLAB are a plus).
- Experience with analytical instruments (e.g., scales, calipers, similar equipment).
- Proactive attitude.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within cross‑functional teams.
