Job description
For our Technology Development Pasta and Milling Process & Digitalization team we are looking for a Global Pasta Process & Technology Innovation Technologist. The role will report to the Technology Development Pasta and Milling Process & Digitalization Director and it will be based in Parma.
Job Purpose
Contribute to new line acquisitions and revamping of existing lines, gaining expertise in pasta production processes and technologies.
Design and develop new and more effective control systems for process monitoring, reducing product defects and increasing product quality consistency and productivity.
Support the ideation, development and delivery of disruptive process innovation projects related to pasta manufacturing on a global level.
Ensure the delivery of Design-To-Value plans related to the pasta area.
Key Accountabilities
- Support, develop and implement selected projects from long term Know How building roadmaps on Pasta process and technology to boost deep understanding of the Barilla core processes critical factors (Drying K-factors) able to determine main products features and process performance KPIs.
- Ensure proper project implementation in close cooperation with GSC Operation and GSC Technical Development, through the definition of new Process Specifications.
- Help developing new Know-how across the RDQ Job Family, competences cross fertilization and constant competence renovation on core processes and technologies.
- Validate identified key areas of opportunity for the applications of digital techniques based on data collections through sensors and data analytics methodologies.
- In cooperation with GRDQ GDC Open Innovation, build a strong external network able to continuously nurture Barilla’s product/process driven digital & technological capabilities, ensuring strong connection to a fast-evolving digital ecosystem.
- Closely cooperate with GSC Technical Development and GB&DT Big Data & Analytics to ensure proper technical and technological enablers are selected and implemented into a consistent process capability assessment & optimization methodology.
- Support the definition of disruptive Design-To-Value programs related to Pasta Processes based on manufacturing Big Data acquisition and analysis on both existing and new processes (Data to Design to Value - D2DtV - projects).
- Take actively part on a global level in the implementation of the D2DtV programs in coordination with GSC Operations, GRDQ GP&TD and Group Controlling, ensuring timing and costs targets are met.
- Identify, validate and develop process and product innovation opportunities by means of core processes Key-Factors to nurture long term core product innovation pipeline.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in Food research and development and/or Food process engineering with a strong focus on Food Process Technology. A good knowledge of pasta technology will be highly preferred.
- Master’s degree in engineering, Industrial Processing, Food Technology, Industrial Chemistry
- Fluency in English and Italian is mandatory
- Lean six sigma Green Belt certification is nice to have
- Analytical mindset, communication, negotiation, team builder, resilience
- Aptitude in developing new skills, to continuous learning and proactivity
- Networking attitude
- Availability to travel frequently (25% of the working time) for business trips (Italy/abroad)
