Manufacturing Excellence Manager

Job description

 

Barilla G. & R. F.lli wants to recruit a Manufacturing Excellence Manager within the Manufacturing Excellence department. The individual will be based in Barilla’s headquarter in Parma, Italy, and will report to the Manufacturing Excellence Director.

 

Job Purpose

 

Contribute to lead  Manufacturing Excellence at Group level by defining and improving: systems, processes, training methodology & program, lean skill matrix for plant organization, digital tools, industrial performance monitoring. Contribute to define key indicators / targets / standards at manufacturing level, comparing the Group’s internal and external benchmarking activities, identifying critical areas and opportunities, and proposing global improvement programs.

 

Key accountabilities

 

  • To define, implement and follow a multi-year program of Manufacturing Excellence System, through all Barilla factories, involving people, processes and digital tools (EMS pilots & ERP exploiting for Manufacturing).
  • To ensure, based on internal requirements and external best practices, the definition and implementation at global level of common processes&pratices by defining roles, responsibilities, tool by monitoring their correct application.
  • To transfer and spread knowledge about Lean Six Sigma  to the plant and other Company functions.
  • To ensure the systematic production of reports and analysis on Operations KPIs for the Superior and the Management, for the purpose of enabling the company to make the most appropriate choices in terms of improvement, optimisation and rationalisation actions.
  • To ensure, based on identified performances, problems and opportunities and internal and external best practices, the proposal and implementation of projects for the improvement of organisation and Manufacturing processes aimed at achieving Operational Excellence.
  • To contribute, consolidate and finalise the annual plan of saving projects for the Group’s Operations.
  • To support plant in problem solving activities, building training  programs.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably engineering)
  • 10 years’ experience in Supply Chain in food industry or other FMCG Company
  • Lean techniques master experienced, with a strong and positive relation with the plant shopfloor
  • Cost deployment methodology master experienced
  • TPS (Toyota Production System) and WCM (World Class Manufacturing) expert
  • Proven experience in project management (innovation, sustainability, cost savings, working capital)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent ability to build and maintain cross-functional and cross-country working relationships
  • Excellent analytical & problem solving  skills
  • Good knowledge of Italian and English 
  • Ability to travel in Italky and abroad min 20%
