Job description
Barilla G. e R. Fratelli S.p.A. is looking for a Omnichannel Engagement Platforms Manager (maternity cover) within the Digital & Business Technology Marketing unit. The role will report to the IT Marketing Director and will be based in our Headquarters in Parma.
Job purpose
Leads the implementation and optimization of technologies that enable first-party data collection, enrichment, and activation within paid media and direct marketing activations. Understands omnichannel execution pain points and the current advertising and marketing technology stack to define and deploy a strategic technology roadmap supporting personalization at scale and first- and second-party data strategies. Plays a cross-functional role connecting digital, media, data, legal, and IT teams to leverage technology enabling the business mission and goals.
Responsibilities
The resource will support the team in the following activities:
- Provide day-to-day operational support for omnichannel marketing automation reporting, coordinating business requests related to audience/segment activation, first-party data reporting, and handling incidents and escalations in collaboration with internal IT teams and vendors.
- Manage, on a daily basis, the delivery and coordination of technical activities required for the launch of consumer promotions leveraging the Barilla technology stack. This includes orchestrating internal and external stakeholders, aligning on brand requirements, and operating within tight and fast-moving promotional calendars.
- Collect and consolidate requirements from markets and global digital teams to identify opportunities to improve first-party data collection technologies, contriuting to the definition of scalable and globally reusable improvements.
- Collaborate with business users and IT stakeholders (Data2Value) for reporting and data projects related to data visualization, on PowerBI and Azure technologies.
- Collaborate closely with the Data Protection Office (DPO) to support initiatives aimed at improving the consumer experience related to privacy preferences, consent management, and data rights, ensuring compliance while minimizing friction for end users.
- Support coordination with agencies and external vendors involved in ongoing initiatives and projects, ensuring clear follow-ups, alignment on scope and timelines, and tracking of delivery milestones.
- Support testing activities (UAT) and release coordination across marketing automation, data, and promotional initiatives, working with both business and technical stakeholders to ensure readiness and quality.
- Maintain and continuously update operational documentation, process descriptions, and guidelines, supporting both internal IT needs and broader process blueprints shared with business teams and partners.
- Support day-to-day governance activities, including user access management, roles and permissions, and compliance-related tasks, while maintaining and tracking project and activity status through the project management platform (Atlassian Jira).
- Assist senior team members in the preparation of governance and approval documentation, including materials related to project validation, budget requests, and architecture reviews, for submission to the relevant evaluation and decision-making committees.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in similar roles witihin FMCG with prior exposure to IT, digital, or technical environments.
- Technical familiarity with key CRM and people data platforms (such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP CDC, SAP SSC, or equivalent solutions) with the business acumen needed to understand corporate dynamics, marketing priorities, and operational constraints.
- Experience in technology or digital transformation initiatives, demonstrating the ability to work in a structured and organized way, coordinate multiple stakeholders in a matrix organization, and deliver against timelines and objectives.
- Curious and proactive approach plus ability to identify opportunities for improvement, formulate practical recommendations, and propose new ideas or actions grounded in business and technical reality.
- Analytical mindset and ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong team-oriented mindset and ability to build positive, trusted, and long-lasting relationships with internal and external partners.
