Plant Buyer
Job description
Barilla G. & R. Fratelli is seeking a Plant Buyer for a Fixed-Term position based in Rubbiano (PR) or Ascoli. The individual will report to the Purchasing Associate Director plants procurement Center of Expertise.
Job purpose
In this key role you will be responsible for executing and managing all local purchasing activities related to indirect categories. This includes sourcing, negotiation, and contracting at the Rubbiano, Ascoli, and Castelplanio sites, ensuring alignment with our defined company guidelines. Your contributions will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our local procurement processes, supporting our commitment to excellence.
Key Accountabilities
- Execute comprehensive market analysis and scout the local supplier base to drive effective sourcing.
- Conduct impactful negotiations and contract management according to purchasing guidelines.
- Resolve disputes by quantifying damages, negotiating compensations, and diligently following up on current disputes and their progress.
- Manage local supplier evaluations, fostering day-to-day supplier relationships, and building sustainable partnerships that generate value for both Barilla and suppliers over time.
- Ensure effective local communication while promoting the use of global and regional contracts; lead the phase-out of old contracts and the introduction of new suppliers.
- Monitor and reduce recurring spot buys, highlighting opportunities for catalog and contract creation.
- Track efficiency and savings calculations for completed projects.
- Collect local data and insights to share with Central Purchasing, contributing to the comprehensive purchasing strategy.
Requirements
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of your time.
- Degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in indirect purchasing.
- Fluency in Italian and English (B2 level) – both spoken and written.
- Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities, with a knack for problem-solving.
- A logical mindset with multitasking capabilities.
- High autonomy, proactivity, and engagement.
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach.
- Ability to develop and nurture strong relationships.
