We are looking for a Transactional Services Continuous Improvement Analyst to join our Transactional Services team. The role reports to the Transactional Services Sr Manager and it is based in Parma (Italy).

 

Job Purpose

The Transactional Services Continuous Improvement Analyst will contribute to promoting and fostering the continuous improvement of transactional processes, guaranteeing the processes’ compliance and the achievement of the objectives in terms of service level and performances of the Administrative Shared Service Center transactional service (Account Payable, Account Receivable, Cash Application, Payment Accuracy) provided by the Business Process Outsourcer (BPO) granting the Group’s governance model and ensuring the local statutory and tax compliance, ensuring their application even in case of processes changes to maintain live and effective Tax Principles.

S/he identifies areas of improvement aimed at boosting productivity or at solving possible issues, analyze possible solution to be implemented leveraging on solid process knowledge and new technologies, identify change management possible impacts, supporting the implementation of new solution guiding local business stakeholders and the BPO.

S/he will be in constant alignment with the Barilla Stakeholders of the reference Regions and Plants for the monitoring of activities and sharing of the achieved KPI’s with the aim to propose process improvements and behavior proper actions to achieve agreed targets.

 

Key Accountabilities

Ensure that all accounting operations made by Accounts Payable and Receivable teams are compliant with EASSC model. In particular: 

  • To assure the Accounts Payable and Receivable closing’s procedure, granting that all is accomplished according to both managerial and statutory deadlines
  • To perform daily internal controls on Account Payable, Account Receivable, Cash Application, Vendor Master Data, Treasury Back office, Travel Expense, to ensure that the Invoice to pay process is properly performed in compliance with the SLA/OLA defined and activate a recovery action plan to revert possible issues

Support the manager in coaching, training, and monitoring the overall performance of the team. In particular: 

  • supervise the BPO activities and coach the other team members to guarantee the correct application of the accounting processes and procedures which grant the timely and quality production of the trial balances
  • review the job done by the other team members in order to optimize the performance as well as to mitigate and lower the error-rate

Recognize and communicate potential issues/risks and escalate them to Transactional Services Manager. In particular: 

  • Monitor the Business Process Outsourcer KPI’s and activities to identify issues/risks/delays that could prevent the achievement of the defined targets and escalating to the Transactional Service Manager 
  • Keep a high-level of knowledge on internal processes and procedures 

Provide other units (e.g. Regions & Process Units) with KPIs dashboard, leading improvements on specific steps of the process. In particular: 

  • lead training session for other units (e.g. Regions & Process Units) to offer an adequate support to make the process smoother
  • develop and update existing work routines and processes, including updating desktop procedures 

Support internal and external auditing processes 

 

Requirements

  • Master Degree in Economics, International Management, Business Administration or similar 
  • 1/2 years of experience in accounting, ideally in a similar job (not mandatory) 
  • International working/studying experience 
  • English and Italian fluency are mandatory, the knowledge of French will be considered a plus. 
  • Ability to work in challenging environment that requires continuous improvement and ability to face high expectations on service level, leveraging on structured and standard processes with increasing volumes. 
  • Team player and team builder attitude 
  • Ability to communicate efficiently 
  • Results oriented and problem-solving attitude 
  • Analytical skills 
  • Experience in dealing with internal/external stakeholders
