Job description

We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team in Warsaw as the Main Accountant. This role is part of our Finance & Administration team and is reporting to the Finance Manager Poland.

As the Main Accountant, you’ll play a critical role in assuring local tax and statutory finance requirements fulfillment, in compliance with local regulations and corporate standards.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive professional, who enjoys working collaboratively and taking ownership of critical accounting processes.

Key Accountabilities:

· Leading and controlling of the company general ledger, in line with local tax and company corporate requirements

· Taxes calculation (VAT, CIT, WHT etc.), submission of the TAX, GUS and NBP statements and leading the communication with authorities on behalf of the company

· Record and process financial transactions, with a focus on vendor invoice management

· Verify and monitor general ledger entries provided by other team members, to ensure accuracy and consistency.

· Create and implement accounting procedures in response to operational needs or legislative changes.

· Financial statement creation, leading the cooperation with statutory audit

· Assuring that reporting is based on the reliable data – checks and verifications

Desired Skills and Background:

· Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

· Minimum 7 years of proven experience in accounting, ideally within an international or corporate environment. Experience as a Main/Chief Accountant—preferably in the FMCG sector—will be highly valued

· Strong and up-to-date knowledge of Polish tax laws and statutory requirements

· Advanced user of MS Excel and SAP

· High attention to detail, a structured way of working and strong problem-solving skills

· Ability to push for solutions that are fully compliant with legislation while providing business efficiencies and limited bureaucracy

· A proactive mindset and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

· Fluency in Polish and English (written and spoken)

· Possession of Local Chart of Accountants certifications would be considered as strong asset

Additional Information

· The role is based in our Warsaw office, Poland. We offer hybrid working as a mix of working remotely and from the office.

· The expected starting date is June 2025, with a full-time permanent contract.
